General Position Description

The HR Assistant is responsible for providing support to the HR Department ensuring quality human resource and training services to employees.

Broad Areas of Responsibility

Providing comprehensive, reliable assistance and support to the Human Resources Department. On a daily basis, maintains accuracy employee and training databases completing all tasks in a timely manner. Provides assistance to the HR Department to oversee timely electronic filing of documents related to employee records/training records. Supports onboarding process for new employees and rehires. Develop and update training materials, collaborating with HR Director and Training Director on needs and requirements. Facilitates and supports trainings as needed, including agency technology trainings and online learning trainings. Assists with additional HR and Training projects.

Minimal Qualifications

• 4-year college degree or a 2-year degree or certificate in the human resources or related field or HS diploma with 1-2 years of experience of HR administrative experience
• Strong computer and technology skills, including
• Experience with Microsoft Windows and software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Able to multi-task
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to speak/present in front of large groups
• High level of organizational skills
• Able to work independently, with good time management skills
• Maintains high level of confidentiality of employee records

Desired Qualifications

• 2 years of experience with Microsoft Applications
• 1-2 years Human Resources experience, including recruitment, hiring, employee records, and training.
• Experience in HRIS – Applicant Tracking and Employee Data Bases
• Current notary and experience notarizing documents
